Corporation Day 2026: Continuing a Legacy of Community Engagement

The annual Corporation Day celebration of Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation Limited (SPIC), Greenstar Fertilizers (GFL) and Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals & Fertilizers (TFL) is a shared celebration of the three organisations and the communities they have grown alongside. At Tuticorin, where these companies have been part of the local community since 1969, Corporation Day is more than about business milestones – it is also a day to give back.

On Corporation Day 2026, Mr. Ashwin Muthiah, Founder & Chairman, AM International, was joined by Ms. Valli Ashwin Muthiah, Director, AM Foundation, and Mr. Manish Nagpal, CEO – Fertilisers Group, AM International. Together with the teams on the ground, they led a series of community initiatives.

These initiatives are an expression of the AM International group’s belief that to be a force for good in a community, a business has to care about the people around it — their health, their children, and the opportunities available to them.

At Tuticorin, where these companies have been part of the local community since 1969, Corporation Day is more than about business milestones – it is also a day to give back.

Artificial Limbs, Heart Screenings, and Medical Check-ups at SPIC Medical Centre

Corporation Day 2026

AM Foundation — the social impact arm of AM International’s group companies — organised an Artificial Limb and Caliper Distribution Camp at the SPIC Medical Centre, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of SPIC Nagar. On the same day, the Rotary Club conducted an Adult Heart Screening Camp at the same venue, and the Lions Club of SPIC Nagar organised a General Medical Camp alongside it.

Mr. Muthiah and Ms. Valli Ashwin Muthiah inaugurated the camps and distributed artificial limbs and calipers to beneficiaries.

74 people received artificial limbs and calipers, and 162 people accessed the heart screening and general medical camps. Between them, the three camps restored mobility for those who had lost it, screened adults for heart conditions that might otherwise have gone undetected, and gave people a basic health check-up they might not have had access to otherwise.

More Than a Decade of Care for Our Community

Corporation Day is one day; the work behind it stretches back a decade. AM Foundation was established in 2015 to focus the AMIH group’s CSR efforts on primary healthcare in a country that faces a 22% shortage in primary healthcare facilities.

Since inception, AM Foundation’s programmes have reached over 1.6 million people through Primary Healthcare Centres, sanitation blocks in government schools, and community health initiatives.

On Corporation Day 2026, we added to those numbers. More importantly, we were able to add something meaningful to the lives of the people who live so close to us.

Mr. Muthiah Visits SPIC Nagar School, Honours Top Students

Corporation Day 2026

Mr. Muthiah also visited SPIC Nagar Higher Secondary School (SNHSS) as part of the Corporation Day programme.

Members of the Junior Red Cross Club, the Eco Club, and the Scouts and Guides lined up to welcome the dignitaries. Inside, Mr. Muthiah met with the young members of the ATAL Club, academic toppers, competition winners, and sports achievers.

The highlight was the AM Rising Star Award for the academic year 2025–26. In his address, Mr. Muthiah encouraged the students to pursue excellence with confidence, curiosity, and perseverance.

For students, visits like these are deeply meaningful. They tell them that the organisation’s leadership notice what they’ve achieved and want them to aim higher.

Renewable Energy Comes to SNHSS

Corporation Day 2026

Mr. Muthiah inaugurated a 150 kWp rooftop solar power plant at the same school. He was accompanied by Ms. Valli Ashwin Muthiah, Mr. Nagpal, and Mr. Senthil Nayagam Palaniyappan, Technical Director, SPIC.

The project was implemented by GFL. The installation is expected to generate approximately 2.7 lakh units of clean energy every year, cut CO₂ emissions by 220 metric tonnes annually, and cover a significant share of the school’s electricity needs.

A solar plant on a school roof does two things at once. It powers the building. And it shows the students who walk under it every day that clean energy is not an abstract idea but something right above their heads.

The installation is expected to generate approximately 2.7 lakh units of clean energy every year, cut CO₂ emissions by 220 metric tonnes annually, and cover a significant share of the school’s electricity needs.

Conclusion

Corporation Day 2026 was a reminder that our connection with Tuticorin goes beyond the workplace. As we look ahead, we remain committed to growing alongside the community and creating opportunities that make a meaningful difference to the lives around us.
